Cookie Policy

What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store in your browser. Browser storage (such as “local storage”) and scripts can do similar jobs. This policy explains what cloudrally.io uses and how you can control it. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
What we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
| cr-theme | Local storage | Remembers your light or dark mode choice | Essential |
| cr-consent-2 | Local storage | Remembers your cookie choices | Essential |
| Cloudflare security cookies (such as __cf_bm) | Cookie | May be set by our hosting provider to protect the website from bots and attacks | Essential |
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Script (no cookies) | Counts page views to understand how the website is used | Analytics, only with consent |
| LinkedIn Insight Tag (LinkedIn cookies such as bcookie, lidc, li_sugr, UserMatchHistory and AnalyticsSyncHistory) | Script and third-party cookies, kept for up to 1 year | Measures the results of our LinkedIn ads and lets us show ads on LinkedIn to people who visited our website | Advertising, only with consent |
Essential items are needed for the website to work securely and to remember your choices. They don’t need your consent, and they are not used for marketing or to track you.
Analytics only load if you turn them on. Cloudflare Web Analytics records page views, the referring page, and your browser, device type and country. It does not set cookies, does not build a profile of you, and does not track you across other websites.
Advertising is a separate choice, and also only loads if you turn it on. The LinkedIn Insight Tag records the pages you visit, the referring page, your IP address, and your device and browser. If you are a LinkedIn member, LinkedIn can link this to your account. We only receive aggregated reports and audiences: we can’t see which members visited the website. LinkedIn handles this information under its privacy policy and cookie policy. LinkedIn members can also control ads based on website visits in their LinkedIn ad settings.
We do not use any other advertising cookies. Our blog on Substack (blog.cloudrally.io) is a separate site with its own cookies, covered by Substack’s privacy policy.
Managing your choices
When you first visit, the cookie banner asks you to choose separately whether to allow analytics and advertising. Both are off until you turn them on, and you can reject both as easily as accepting them. You can change your choices at any time. If you turn one off, it stops loading straight away. Cookies LinkedIn has already set stay in your browser until they expire or you clear them.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of advertising: the LinkedIn Insight Tag stays off and can’t be turned on.
You can also clear or block cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you clear site data, the website will forget your choices and ask again.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when we change what the website uses. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date.
